Walcott Bags Hat-Trick
Remember Theo Walcott? The supremely talented winger/forward that scored a hat-trick for England against Croatia in 2008 and was dubbed "Wonderkid" immediately after? The same player who, since then, has battled injuries and poor form on his way to missing out on the squad for the 2010 World Cup, an apparent snub by England manager Fabio Capello?
At 21-years-old, many soccer pundits were already starting to write-off Walcott's career prospects.
Today could be just the boost the young player needed to put him back on track to reaching stardom. As part of Arsenal's 6-0 thrashing of Premiership-newbies Blackpool, Walcott grabbed a hat-trick before exiting to a standing ovation at Emirates Stadium.
Maybe that snub will be turned into success this season at Arsenal. After watching today's performance, it looks as though young Theo did some major work to refining his game in the offseason. He looked more confident on the ball and displayed efficiency in his pass attempts.
