I must say too that Nike's initiative to make these uniforms more enivronmentally-friendly is pretty commendable. Each jersey worn by a player will be made from nearly eight recycled plastic bottles.
According to Businesswire.com, Nike’s fabric suppliers sourced discarded plastic bottles from Japanese and Taiwanese landfill sites and then melted them down to produce new yarn that was ultimately converted to fabric for the jerseys.
Who knows, maybe this will get Adidas to follow and create some sort of recyclable/jersey combination.
