Davies To Return In April
In what will prove to be a major boost for the United States' World Cup hopes, yesterday it was reported that Charlie Davies should be fit to appear for his club FC Sochaux next month.
Davies has been recovering since his involvement in a car accident in October which left one woman dead and Davies with a host of broken bones. His healing time has been amazingly quick, considering many soccer experts thought he would be out of the fold for the World Cup. Instead, Davies has drawn upon his inner-strength and excelled at his rehabilitation. Hopefully he can get some time back on the field in France before it's time for South Africa.
Here's an interview with Davies after he returned to his club:
When you think about it, the United States has been extremely fortunate with some of its star players making fast recoveries from injuries. Along with Davies, Clint Dempsey returned to Fulham yesterday after seven and a half weeks out with a knee injury to score a wonder goal in the Europa League. Oguchi Onyewu is now fit enough after a knee injury to resume training with AC Milan and Stuart Holden just got his cast off of a broken leg sustained in a friendly vs. the Netherlands on March 3rd.
Things are definitely looking good for the red, white and blue.
